Golf
Ahaus is and remains one of the most beautiful places in Germany to play golf. The 27-hole golf course at Golf- und Landclub Ahaus is one of the ten best courses in Germany and has earned the title “Premier European Golf Course”. The holes are sub-divided into the South, East and West courses (3 x 9 holes). If you have time, try all three.

Culture
Go back in time a few centuries in Bad Bentheim with Kasteel Bentheim, Gronau with its old water tower and Ahaus with its baroque Waterslot from the Bishops of Münster. You can also find art and culture across the border, in Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede. There you can make a voyage of discovery through visual and applied art from the fourteenth century to today.

Walking and cycling
The German village of Zwillbrock is close to the Dutch-German border. This is the starting point for a walk or cycle trip in the Zwillbrocker Venn nature reserve. Cars are not allowed here, so you can enjoy the countryside undisturbed. And from March to June there’s a big chance that you’ll come across flamingos, which come here to breed every year.

Children
Attractiepark Wunderland Kalkar, close to Arnhem, has a distinct history. The park is built in a former, but never used, nuclear power station. There are some forty attractions here including spinning tea cups, bouncy castles, a Ferris wheel, water ride and roller coaster. Suitable for children from 4 to 12 years. Other fun amusement parks in the area are Movie Park Germany and Phantasialand.
