Relaxation between meadows and forests

Hampshire Hotel – Bon’Aparte is located in the Achterhoek in Gelderland, at the foot of Lochemse Berg walking area. You can completely relax between meadows and forests. And you can be active if you want to, because various walking and cycling routes start from the hotel. Routes that take you to surprising places. You can take a look at a farmstead, taste wine at an Achterhoek vineyard and get a fresh glass of milk straight from the source along the way.

For a day of culture and an afternoon of shopping there are two really good options in the area of Hampshire Hotel – Bon’Aparte: the Hanze cities of Deventer and Zutphen. Here, you’ll find monumental churches, towers, former fortifications, great shops, boutiques and galleries. And museums too such as De Zutphense Kunstcollectie, Museum Henriette Polak and Stedelijk Museum Zutphen. After a day in the city you can relax in the hotel’s covered swimming pool and sauna. Places of interest
In Doesburg there’s the Doesburgsche Mosterd- en Azijnfabriek. The factory from 1806 was converted into a museum where you can find out simply everything about mustard. Streekmuseum De Roode Tooren in Doesburg has a reconstructed grocer’s shop from 1890, a tobacconist and numerous historic objects. In Huis Verwolde in Laren, various objects show you how the former nobles used to live.

Cycling
In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are a number of well-known cycling routes, such as the 8-Kastelenroute towards Vorden, Landgoederenroute around Lochem and Almen and the 20-kilometre Ommetje Lochem.

Golf
For both the starting as well as the advanced golfer, Golfclub ’t Zelle is a perfect address. There is a beautifully-laid-out 18-hole golf course, one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands, and a 9-hole golf course (par 3) on which to practise. In Diepenheim there’s an 18-hole Pitch & Putt course. The course is integrated within Twente’s hilly landscape, with wooden banks and pools. And there is a stylish clubhouse with terrace.

In Het Land van Jan Klaassen in Braamt children can enjoy fantastic games. There are bouncy castles, trains and hover cars. The Tom Koolhaas-route, a 4-kilometre walk that requires a compass and is suitable for children from 8 to 12 years, starts from the hotel.

The kitchen at Restaurant B’tween follows the seasons. In the spring, there are asparagus on the menu and in the autumn you can enjoy delicious game dishes. The kitchen works with local quality produce as much as possible. The result of all this effort is always surprising and tastes truly unique. You can order à la carte or go for a surprise or regional menu. Here are a few of the types of dishes you can expect: beetroot carpaccio with blue cheese, Doesburg mustard soup, asparagus with spicy tartar of Galia melon and green apple sorbet, IJssel valley beef with pesto and bacon and a grilled tuna medallion with green ribbon pasta and a basil-paprika sauce.
