Museums 
You’ll find the Museum voor Religieuze Kunst on Vorstenburg 1 in Uden. It’s located in a wing of an occupied nunnery and has one of the most beautiful collections of religious art in the country. In the Boerenbondmuseum Gemert, you can experience life in a Peel-village in 1900.

Places of interest
Uden is a town rich in history. A walk through this “greenest town in the Netherlands” is highly recommended. You’ll automatically come across such places of interest as the Petruskerk, the houses on the Kastanjeweg and the Molen van Jetten. Hidden in the wooded Brabant landscape, between Den Bosch and Eindhoven, is Kasteel Heeswijk. In this former 11th Century moated castle, you can join a tour and admire the salon, knight’s hall, exotic Chinese room, library and other impressive quarters. The Sterrenwacht Halley in Vinkel is open to the public every first and third Friday evening of the month. The observatory’s two-hour programme has readings and a planetarium show, and on clear night, you can watch the night sky.

Children
Uden has lots to offer in the area of theatre. There are many fun performances for the entire family in the Openluchttheater and Vestzaktheater Naat Piek and Theater Markant. In Volkel you can all visit BillyBird Park Hemelrijk. This park has  various indoor and outdoor attractions, from inside playgrounds, rope course, boat slide and puppet theatre to family roller coaster. In the woods near Schaijk there’s a great surprise for the children: the Docus de Das adventure path. Young and old can climb, feel, balance, walk and enjoy in this magical play forest.

The chefs in “De Vrije Teugel” restaurant prepare dishes using local produce as much as possible, including mushrooms from Valkenburg and leek from Noord-Brabant. Every day they prepare the most surprising dishes with the utmost care. What about crayfish tarts, rack of lamb with thyme jus, confit veal cheek and a tart of pure chocolate and champagne? As well as enjoying a delicious dinner, you can go there every day for an extensive breakfast buffet, lunch, drinks or Sunday brunch.
