Unique and luxury country estate

When you go over the moat and through the castle entrance to the inner courtyard of Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic, you step back in time by a few centuries. You’ll maybe not see a knight on a horse, but the courtyard is, just as it used to be, the beating heart of the castle. This is where the terrace is laid out and where all buildings lead to: the Hoofdburcht, Voorburcht and the Kasteelhoeve.

Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic is located on the edge of Herkenbosch village on a unique fourteenth century country estate. It is just a few kilometres from Roermond, close to the beautiful Nationaal Park De Meinweg. You can just cycle or walk straight into the countryside from the country estate. The hotel has many beautiful, large rooms and is therefore very suitable for meetings, parties, weddings and other events.

Versatile surroundings in Central Limburg

From here in Central Limburg, close to the city of Roermond, you can go in every direction. There are many great cities and places of interest in the area, or you can cross the border into Germany and Belgium for events or a day’s shopping. A few tips:

Art and culture
The white town of Thorn is unique in the Netherlands. The partly noble history of this much-visited town goes back to the tenth century. You can discover why everything in Thorn is white in the Gemeentemuseum Het Land van Thorn. Walled city Stevensweert is on an island between two branches of the Maas. In the Streekmuseum Stevensweert/Ohé en Laak you can relive the history of this beautiful city, founded by the Spanish in 1633. Just over the Belgian border, there’s the tourist town of Maaseik, where there’s lots happening, as they say themselves. For example, you can visit Musea Maaseik on Lekkerstraat with the Regionaal Archeologisch Museum, the Apotheekmuseum, the Ontdekkingskamer and Kerkschatten van Sint-Catharina, all under one roof.

In Huifkarhoeve in Vlodrop there’s Gitstap playground with rides for older and younger children. They can play indoors and outdoors throughout the year at children’s play village Pee Wee in Posterholt. For very young children there is a petting farm. De IJzeren Man swimming pool in Weert also has a wave machine.

Düsseldorf, just over the German border, is the perfect shopping city. Christmas markets give the city a unique atmosphere during the festive season. There’s also great shopping at Designer Outlet Roermond, the largest outlet in the Benelux.

At Burggolf Herkenbosch you feel as though you’re abroad. The fantastic 18-hole golf course with its un-Dutch undulating landscape is in the middle of the forest next to the Nationaal Park De Meinweg.

The season on your plate

You can enjoy grandiose dining in Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic’s speciality restaurant. From amuse bouche to dessert: everything is simply 100% perfect. The Head Chef’s secret lies in his respect for nature and for the seasons. Everything that the season has to offer, you’ll find on your plate. You can enjoy dinner à la carte or be surprised by the special daily menu composed by the Head Chef.
Naturally there is an extensive wine menu and you can choose from various wine packages. And, of course, a castle isn’t a castle without a fireplace, so that’s kept crackling away for you.

As well as the speciality restaurant in the Pallandtzaal, there are other places in the hotel in which you can enjoy a culinary feast in a stylish setting, including the decked terrace at the rear of the castle, where lunch or dinner can be served outdoors.

“Perfect place for business lunch ”

Quiet place, lots of space, good food, excellent service, what does a human being need more to get satisfied? Easy to reach, nice to combine with walking routes, all in one.... We found this also a building surrounded with water which brings you back to old times

“Magical stay in an old castle”

My mother, sister and I stayed here for a night and had a wonderful time! The room was vary spacious, the staff friendly and the breakfast buffet truely delicious. Would recommand anybody to go there as well. Definitely worth a stop!

“Nice old castel.”

I was in Roermond for business so this was not the perfect fit for me, but it still was a very nice place. It is a nice castle with beautiful surroundings located in the countryside. My room was a bit different from the ordinary as it was two floors with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and living room downstairs. I imagine this would be a good fit for a romantic getaway. On the downside: The furniture was old style and fitted nicely in, but they were not very comfortable. But the bed was good. Also the reception was not open when I had my late arrival.

“Luxe torenkamer op landgoed Daelenbroeck van Hampshire”

Wonderful quiet, natural walking and cycling environment against the German border. Hampshire has done his best from the moment of arrival to departure to arrange a pleasant stay. We had a very nice family received as a gift for our 35th wedding anniversary. In the highest and most luxurious tower suite was our stay unfortunately only one night. We also thought we were really like lord and lady. You can eat very well from the card if there is a menu arrangement. The suggested wine was a good recommendation. Also, this location is very suitable to a romantic celebration or wedding. Here are several options available.

“a special and unique place that must be experienced”

I ran across this gem quite by accident online while seeking out information for our trip to the Netherlands. I found a webpage someone had put together on castles that you could actually stay in and this intrigued me. I looked a little further and saw that many of them had a "modern estate" look and feel rather than a true "historic castle" charm. But as soon as I saw a photo of Kasteel Daelenbroeck I knew this was the place I wanted to stay. We were fortunate enough to find availability and I was so glad I opted for the suite. It was fabulous! The photos can't do it justice. There is a feeling you get when you arrive that really takes you back. I was amazed at the way the old and new were blended together so beautifully. The timeless beauty is evident upon entering the Castle grounds. The castle's arched gate with moat pond and tower welcome you was you arrive. The grounds are not like the overly manured gardens of a pretentious golf course. But more like a natural, peaceful setting; a comfortable place; somewhere you really want to be. From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff were wonderfully attentive. Our suite was huge and beautiful with every modern convenience included. Everything from the lighting, drapery, wardrobes etc was perfect. Nothing overlooked or overstated simply perfect. Getting there was simple it was a short cab ride from the train station in Roermond. Kasteel Daelenbroeck is located very close to the German and Luxembourg boarders making it a convenient place to stay if looking to explore these countries as well. The restaurant was excellent and very accommodating. The chef whipped up some special appetizers just for us, which were out of this world fantastic. It was so nice to have such wonderful options for dinner right onsite. We felt like we really had received the royal treatment. In the morning we had a great breakfast buffet included in our package. The breakfast area was sunny and overlooked a delightful courtyard. We really enjoyed looking at the book in our suite about the history of the Castle over the years. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to fully explore all of the castle grounds but what we did take in was truly amazing! If we didn't have to fly back to the states that morning we would have cancelled our other hotel reservations and stayed here the rest of our trip. I wish this was the first hotel we had planned to visit instead of coming at the end of our trip. We will definitely have to stay here again. There is something so unique and special about this place it is hard to convey it adequately in this reviewer format. It simply must be experienced.
