Get out on the water with a canal cruise

Eden Hotel Amsterdam - Hampshire Eden is situated in the centre of the city of Amsterdam, on the famous Amstel river. What could be nicer than taking a trip on the Amstel? You can take a canal cruise, hire your own boat to cruise through the city or be really sporty and hire a canal bike - fantastic fun! Other activities include:

Museums
Rembrandthuis Museum on Jodenbreestraat is located in the house where Dutch Master Rembrandt van Rijn lived and worked between 1639 and 1658. A little further way you can find the Anne Frank House. Here you can experience how life must have been for the Frank family in hiding. Photography fans should certainly visit the changing exhibitions at Foam photography museum on Keizersgracht. There’s a World Press Photo exhibition in the Oude Kerk every year. Hermitage Amsterdam presents  various exhibitions from the Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia.

Cycling
The historic inner city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 2010. The best way to view the heart of the city is the Amsterdam way: by bicycle. You can hire one at the hotel.

Market
You can buy flowers, bulbs, plants and souvenirs for those back home at the floating flower market on Singel. You’ll find vintage clothing and curiosities on Waterlooplein near the Stopera.

Children
The covered TunFun play park is in a former car tunnel. Children from 0 to 12 can tire themselves out here, climbing, running, sliding and jumping. Older children can meet their heros at Madame Tussauds on the Dam. For young scientists, there’s the NEMO Science Center, with five floors full of scientific and technological things to do and discover.

“Nice price, awesome location, great rooms”

The location is perfect, just a few steps form Rembrandtplein and near every spot you will like to visit probably if it's your first time in Amsterdam (30min walking to Museumplein, Jordaan (Anne Frank's House), Centrum (Red Light too), and De Pijp or Oud Zuid). We got the 435 room which was great! double bed and plenty of space. Clean, and everything as it should be (two bulbs weren't working but as each side had two lamps we didn't missed it), the staff was really helpful and gave us a great stay. We didn't took the breakfast, so I can't advice about the quality but guess it's nice as it's a continental buffet, anyway book with it already or it will cost like 18€ p.p. if you want to take it there.

“If you want to "Feel the essence of Amsterdam" this is IT”

Quaint and so old but with very nice rooms, great service and the absolute best location in Amsterdam. Around the back street is Rembrandstrasse square best place for meals and breakfasts and for "hanging out". Out your front window is the canals and the tour boats are 50 metres away. Prices are great and service is really good except the airport shuttle driver didnt know which hotel to take us to (apparently there are two Edens there) Best hotel for budget travellers and for those needing to immerse themselves in the real Amsterdam

Got to hotel early had requested early check in if possible and got an upgraded to the Hampshire hotel based at back of the building. Perfect location within walking distance to most attractions , the front of the building leads you to beautiful canals and the back to the hustle and bustle of picture perfect Rembrandt square, we just loved it!! Full mini bar in room which actually wasn't anymore than bar prices, perfect for pre dinner drink while getting ready for night out. Staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, would definitely return and have been recommending to all our friends!

“Beware Mouldy Bathrooms”

I researched our hotels for our European Trip so was disappointed about the Eden Hotel. The Foyer is lovely and we thought wow this is a gorgeous hotel! Wrong we were. Our room was small which we weren't too bothered about as we'd stayed in smaller. But the bath was ridiculously small and had mould all along the base and around the bath. I called the reception and they were not very helpful they appeared to be used to people calling with this issue. They responded saying 'it is a 3 star hotel?' Basically what did you expext! I've stayed in a few 2 & 3 star hotels/hostels and never had mould or the bad attitude by the staff. They finally agreed to move us to another room not only was this room also mouldy but we had to check out by 12pm and then check back in at 3pm which was annoying. Plus we asked for coffee making facilities which we paid extra for but had to ask three times each time being questioned by the staff about the additional cost. Just for a jug and sachets of tea and coffee!! This hotel could be a great hotel by simply taking care to hygenically clean it's rooms, offering tea and coffee making facilities as standard in rooms and most importantly training the staff to be more customer friendly.
