Get out on the water with a canal cruise

Eden Hotel Amsterdam - Hampshire Eden is situated in the centre of the city of Amsterdam, on the famous Amstel river. What could be nicer than taking a trip on the Amstel? You can take a canal cruise, hire your own boat to cruise through the city or be really sporty and hire a canal bike - fantastic fun! Other activities include:

Museums
Rembrandthuis Museum on Jodenbreestraat is located in the house where Dutch Master Rembrandt van Rijn lived and worked between 1639 and 1658. A little further way you can find the Anne Frank House. Here you can experience how life must have been for the Frank family in hiding. Photography fans should certainly visit the changing exhibitions at Foam photography museum on Keizersgracht. There’s a World Press Photo exhibition in the Oude Kerk every year. Hermitage Amsterdam presents  various exhibitions from the Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia.

Cycling
The historic inner city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 2010. The best way to view the heart of the city is the Amsterdam way: by bicycle. You can hire one at the hotel.

Market
You can buy flowers, bulbs, plants and souvenirs for those back home at the floating flower market on Singel. You’ll find vintage clothing and curiosities on Waterlooplein near the Stopera.

Children
The covered TunFun play park is in a former car tunnel. Children from 0 to 12 can tire themselves out here, climbing, running, sliding and jumping. Older children can meet their heros at Madame Tussauds on the Dam. For young scientists, there’s the NEMO Science Center, with five floors full of scientific and technological things to do and discover.

“Robbery”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over New Years Eve,and on arrival the asked for a 50 euro deposit. I checked out on the 2/1/2015 and till this day, I still have not received my money back. My room was left in the same condition the hotel gave it to me, so there is no reason not to be refunded. I have now also incurred an added cost on my phone bill due to me having to keep chasing the hotel for my funds. I realise it is not too much money however they were quick enough to take my money but will not give it back. I recommend not staying at this hotel as you are not guaranteed a refund.

“Second visit but probably the last”

Hotel staff are still not friendly and helpful when checking in. I was told nothing except for the 50 euro deposit to go on my credit card. I tried to say hello to the concierge but he looked the other way and his colleague did the same later in my stay. I had a room to the front of the hotel, nice big room with modern bathroom but the carpet was very badly stained and the heater on the wall was blowing out cold air instead of warm air. I left my breakfast order hanging on the door at midnight but to my amazement it was still there the next morning. I went to the breakfast room and the guy who welcomes you in told me it was not his problem and I should tell reception. I told reception but she didn't really care and I told her the guy at the breakfast room had a bad attitude. I was left a free drinks voucher in my room, but the bar was closed when I went down on St Patrick's night! This was a free visit, but I am disappointed with my stay especially with the staff.

“Practical and well located”

The location is absolutely perfect a few steps away from Rembrandt Square, facing a canal and 5 minutes walking to the main touristic shopping area. Rooms are average size for Amsterdam, bathrooms bigger than usual, overall clean. Breakfast has basic options, eggs, cheases, bread, fruit, coffee etc. Staff is super friendly as usual in Amsterdam. Internet was fast and free. The only thing I did not particulary enjoyed was the room service, the menu is not very appealing and the portions were small and too expensive. It is perfect for business travelers as it offers all the basics

“Great location nice hotel”

My friend and I had to moved to this hotel from a previous hostel which was a 1 star which we didnt know when booking. We was lucky enough to have a room for the 3 nights we were there. When we arrived we was told we had to pay 50 euro deposit for the room and a 5% city tax on the room on each night you stay. The room was really nice, nice comfy beds nice modern bathroom the only downfall was the carpet and the walls. The walls were so filthy, dirty marks everywhere all over the walls they need to be painted! Also, the walls are very thin we heard the room above us lauging and talking for ages. The location is really good, you are around lots of the coffee shops, food places, bars shopping etc. The walk to dam square is about 10-15 minutes and is a little confusing but everyone speaks english there and is happy to help with directions. Overall I was really pleased with the hotel, staff were lovely not rude at all, the hotel its self is very modern and the bar was lovely! I would stay here again.

“Good location not the best rooms!!”

We stayed in the Eden Hotel Amsterdam in March for two nights. When we first walked into the hotel the reception area was nice and the bar area at front was lovely! We checked into our room and it was very dated and really cramped! There was no room at all to move around and felt really claustrophobic! The windows was very dirty and so was the curtains and looking down the radiator it was very old and had all dirt inside. The bathroom was clean and they gave us fresh towels which was great! Talking to people who has stayed in this hotel previously and recommended it too us have said it sounds like we got put in the old side of the hotel and they now have a renovated front area so i would request to stay on the rembrandt square side! It is in a very good location and really easy to get to other places via tram. We had a lovely meal in Leidseplein and would definitely recommend eating around there. As we was checking out the the hotel there was a lady complaining about the amount of noise there was until all hours of the morning and that she didn't get to sleep until 6am but the lady on reception said this is normal and that's what will always happen with it being a weekend in Amsterdam. Which we did here alot of noise but didn't get home until 3am ourselves so wasn't as effected but if you are going on the weekend and looking for a peaceful nights sleep i would recommend staying elsewhere
