Walking and cycling
In the surroundings, there are many lovely routes, such as the 18 kilometre Huizen tour, the Gooilust route past estates and country homes in the Gooi and the Monument walk lasting around an hour.

Museums
Museum Singer Laren has an interesting art collection and various exhibitions. In the Nederlands Vestingmuseum in Naarden, you will learn all about the history of the fortified towns in the Netherlands, the city of Naarden and the Dutch Water Line. Oud-Zuilen is home to Slot Zuylen dating from 1520, the former residence of author Belle van Zuylen Another historic castle is Muiderslot, founded around 1285 by Floris V.

Theatre
Famous in the Gooi is Theater Spant! in Bussum. This atmospheric theatre offers a wide-ranging programme: cabaret, musicals and plays. For a film evening, you can visit Filmhuis Bussum.

Children
Fun for young and old is Coronel Kartracing in the Oude Haven of Huizen, right behind the hotel. In Speelbos ’t Laer, children aged between 4 and 14 can scramble, climb and generally have fun. For very young children, there is the petting farm, Kinderboerderij de Warande in Huizen.

Golf
There are lots of possibilities to play a round of golf in the vicinity. For example, Golfbaan Naarderbos on the Gooimeer with a challenging 18-hole Championship Course. Another option is the lovely Golfclub Almeerderhout, in its woodland setting, where you can choose from three nine-hole courses.
