“Good Hotel but let down by a bad attitude.”

Well it's the only IHG Hotel in Eindhoven, so loyalty means that I will always stay there. While most of the staff members were pleasant and helpful, one guy was really quite disrespectful and condescending - not what one expects from an IHG Hotel. Breakfast is a bit of a fight and you have to cook your own eggs (have you used a catering hotplate?). Mind you, the chipolata sausages are tasty (even though someone stole two from my plate while I was getting coffee). If I stay again, I won't buy hotel breakfasts. There are plenty of places at the station (200 metres walk away) and an Albert Heijn supermarket on the city side of the station.

“Reminds me of my childhood”

This review is VERY biased, so I apologize in advance :-). When in Eindhoven I always stay here, because it brings back memories of when I was little. My father worked for Philips, and we often stayed here when. Visiting holland. Biased emotional links aside, I also have to say that the staff is great! They always greet you with a cheerful "goede morgen" in the morning, and generally they are always ready to help. I am still not very impressed with the breakfast (this is true for every holiday inn, by the way): industrial breads and cheeses, and bad coffee. Still, this is only a comment. I just had breakfast elsewhere. Nevertheless, the club sandwich in the bar is pretty good! Overall, well done, guys. I hope to see you again soon.

“Good hotel in a good location, strange bar etiquette”

Hotel is a few minute walk from the station that was good for my trip, the Evolution and PSV stadium was a short walk also. Rooms are modern, clean and bed comfortable all amenities required, had two good nights sleep. Breakfast selection is good and quality was also good. Only downside for me was when asking for a certain beer that I had been drinking was told the remaining ones in the fridge had been reserved by another customer but not paid for........ bizarre. Would of liked a later drink but that was not a deal breaker.

Friends getaway

“Pleasantly Surprised”

My team-mate and I stayed in the Holiday Inn for 3 nights as I needed a place to stay for the European Laser Quest Championships. The location was excellent, only a short walk away from the Laser Quest where we needed to be. The receptionist was very helpful and showed us how to get to where we needed to be. The room we shared was clean and pleasant. The swimming pool was small but very clean and quiet and open until 10:30pm which is nice after a busy day. My bed was large and comfy, and I slept through the night which really says a lot about the bed, as I was so excited about the Laser Quest Championships that I didn't expect to sleep well at all! However I was pleasantly surprised.

“Rooms okay, need new bathrooms, City Center”

Have stayed here twice on business for a few nights. Right in the city center close to the train station. Rooms to the busy street side and train station have a lot of noise as windows do not seem to be insulated enough. Make sure you ask for a room to the backside of the hotel, these are quiet. Rooms are nothing fancy and the bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation, I would say at least 20 years old. Setting the temperature in the room was difficult and on my last recent stay the warm water heater went early in the morning. When I mentioned that upon checkout all I was told was, "Yes, we are aware", no apology, nothing! Otherwise the reception was friendly upon check in and answered all questions nicely. Must have caught someone with a bad day in the AM. Also should mention that they do have an excellent French restaurant on site 'La Brasserie'. Breakfast in the AM is also quite good by American standards but do have to get everything yourself, including the coffee but good coffee machine makes up for it.
