Charming hotel with very personal service

You'll immediately feel at home in the charming three-star hotel Hostellerie Schuddebeurs – Hampshire Classic, run by host and hostess Bart and Tanja de Bree. The hotel lies in the heart of Schouwen-Duiveland, near Zierikzee and surrounded by lots of beautiful countryside. In the immediate surroundings, there are some fantastic walks and cycle routes. Or you can play a game of golf on one of the golf courses on the islands of Zeeland.

The pride of Hostellerie Schuddebeurs – Hampshire Classic is its fantastic restaurant. The menu only features regional and seasonal produce. The kitchen uses fresh, top quality Dutch produce, including all the delicacies the waters of Zeeland have to offer: Eastern Scheldt lobster and mussels. If you can't choose from the menu, chef Bart de Bree always has a menu for you, with wine suggestions if you wish.

Lovely walks and fantastic cycle routes

Zeeland, and the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in particular, is the ideal destination to enjoy a long weekend walking and cycling. There are beautiful nature areas near the hotel, like Krekengebied Ouwerkerk, the woods of Schuddebeurs and the Prunje, the oldest polder of Schouwen-Duiveland. Lovely cycle routes include the Caisson route and the FIKS Theme route “Victory over the water”. More tips:

Museums
One of the showpieces of the Stadhuismuseum in Zierikzee is the Darinkdelven panel dating from 1540, showing salt extraction in medieval times. Here, silver works, old maps and paintings enable you to delve into the history of Zierikzee. In the centre of Burgh is a classic school building dating from 1843. In this building, you will find museum De Burghse Schoole with an authentic classroom from 1920, including wooden benches, slates and chalk. It all started at the Blikmuseum De Blikvanger in Renesse with one tin, found by the rubbish. The collection now comprises over four thousand tins.

Nature
The Zeeuwse Rozentuin near the village of Kats is a beautiful landscape garden featuring a thousand types of roses and a hundred different clematis. In order to optimally enjoy the Eastern Scheldt and spot harbour porpoises, you can take a trip on the sailing ship Scaldis. Birdwatchers mustn't miss the rich bird habitat of Plan Tureluur along the south coast of Schouwen-Duiveland.

Golf
Two fabulous 18-hole golf courses are less than a thirty minute drive from the hotel: Golf club Grevelingenhout at Bruinisse and golf club De Goese Golf.

Children
In Deltapark Neeltje Jans, you can spend a day enjoying sea animals and stormy attractions and learn more about the delta works. If you really want to thrill the kids, visit Prince Helicopters heliport for a helicopter flight. Pull on your boots and step into the mud at the two nature reserves of Dijkwater and Tureluur. Excursions are regularly organised in these beautiful nature areas, visited by many coastal birds.

For over twelve years, chef Bart de Bree has headed his ambitious kitchen team. He knows exactly what he wants. Bart de Bree: “A good meal starts with a product of exquisite quality. We apply a high quality norm and impose strict standards on the products. For example, they should preferably be Dutch products. And many of the dishes on the menu come from Zeeland.”
Bart's creations using Eastern Scheldt lobster are legendary. In the season, you can try the most delicious dishes featuring this lobster in a starring role. You can order à la carte or choose one of the set menus, with or without wine suggestions. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy lunch or dinner on the bustling terrace surrounded by nature.

Because the hotel is just an hour's drive from Rotterdam, West-Brabant, Terneuzen and Antwerp. And there are many more bonuses, such as the relaxed atmosphere, the tranquillity of the rural surroundings and the service-focussed mentality of the staff. For business guests, there are various extra facilities, such as free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, free parking, packed lunch service and cycle hire.

Meetings with or without overnight stay and outdoor programme
The hotel has three meeting rooms at its disposal. The front room can accommodate up to 12 people, the small room up to 16 people and the big room up to 40 people. This latter, light room has a view over the garden. In order to make things easy for you, there are meetings package deals from 6 to 50 people, with or without overnight stay, in one of the 22 attractive hotel rooms.
