The "High Tea" originally comes from England in the 18th-century in the time of the Industrial Revolution. After a day of hard work the workers would come home tired and hungry. Their meal would excist of bread, several kinds of meat, butter, cheese and ofcourse tea. Because the meal would be consumed of a high table in comparrisen to a lower coffeetable, is were the name "High Tea" found his origin.
The "Royal High Tea" also comes from England. Duchess Anna from Bedford use to feel a little peckish around four o'clock, between breakfast and dinnertime. She used to make the servants sneak in nice sandwiches for her. This she liked so much that she started to invite her friends round. During these meetings little sandwiches and sweet pastry were served. This was quickly taken over by the other ladies of the upper class.
