From nature to aircraft suite: something for everyone

The concept “something for everyone” certainly applies to Hampshire Hotel - Fitland Mill. There's lots going on around the hotel grounds. Including sports centre Fitland, where you can play squash, visit the gym, swim or attend sports classes. The rural surroundings of Brabant, with its woods, pools, country estates, fields and moorland, offers plenty of opportunities for lovely walks and cycle tours.

If you prefer to relax, the Brabantse Mill is right for you too. Because the hotel has a unique beauty and wellness resort: The Wellnessboot. On this boat, you can relax in various saunas, an expansive sauna garden, steam cabins, indoor and outdoor baths, bar, restaurant and a complete beauty centre. If you are looking for something special, book one of the two luxury aircraft suites with jacuzzi. These are outside the hotel in a converted marine aircraft.

Active enjoyment with swimming pool and climbing wall

Around the Mill, there's plenty to do. You can walk and cycle in the beautiful nature areas of Molenheide and Langenboomse Bossen, or visit Nijmegen and Den Bosch for a day of art, culture and shopping. A few tips:

In Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen, there is plenty of attention for the town's illustrious Roman history. Here you will learn everything there is to know about daily life when Nijmegen was still the biggest Roman town in the Netherlands. The museum also has one of the biggest pop art collections in our country. In the hills near Groesbeek is the Nationaal Bevrijdingsmuseum 1944-1945. Here you will experience the meaning of freedom based on photos, objects and film clips. In the Sint Jacobskerk in Den Bosch is the Jheronimus Bosch Art Centre, a museum dedicated to the painter Jeroen Bosch.

Tourist attractions
In and around the Mill, you will find characteristic, historic buildings such as the Mariakapel dating from the fifteenth century, the seventeenth Kasteel Aldendriel and Kasteel Tongelaar from the twelfth century. Kasteel Tongelaar is in the beautiful estate Landgoed Tongelaar, where there's something going on all year round: from concerts and exhibitions to wine tastings.

In nature area Molenheide, you can choose between two walking routes: the red 3 kilometre route or the blue 4.8 kilometre route. In nature area Langenboomse Bossen, you will find a green walking route of 6 kilometres and a red cycle route of over 8 kilometres through the woods and along the water De Kuilen with a recreational beach.

In the hotel grounds, the children can swim, climb on the climbing wall and zip down the zip line from a 15 metre high tower. For monkeys of all ages, there is the indoor play paradise Monkey Town in Wijchen. Particularly during the strawberry season, from March to October, the Aardbeienhof in Gemert is worth a visit. Here, the children can pick their own strawberries and make jam.

“Nice beds”

We slept in the newer part of the hotel, deluxe rooms. bed was vey good and we could watch tv from bed. also bad room was very clean and new. You have to pay 15 euro for breakfast, that is really expensive to have it extra to room rate

“Good and relaxing”

Nice welcome at reception. Room is trendy and clean. Lots of things to do wellness and fitness close-by. A little noice of the heater at night. And door didn't fell into lock on its own. Food was good.

“Extremely friendly staff - good hotel - very good restaurant”

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Genuine friendly, not just professionally friendly. Guess it because this is Brabant. Booked a superior room, making for a very quiet room, bubble bath, fridge, coffee maker, microwave. It is not a kitchenette and I did not care. The rooms are upstairs, mo real elevator, steps down, steps up. But hey, it is called fitland. I knew ahead, no problem. The elevator is about to be renewed. Good, because it us only a last-resort-option. Leave the thing for those who really need it. And use the stairway. Fitland! Friendly staff at the bar. Try La Trappe beer. On tap or bottle. Friendly service. Every day. The restaurant. des werelds. Grest formula. For 28 euro you can keep combining starters, main courses and deserts. The staff? They keep advising you in a most friendly way. They even seem worried you cannot enjoy enough if you show up late! The many 'half sized' dishes are served with an amazing enthusiasm. I understand. It is hard working here, but one can be proud of what is served. Smiling customers all around!

“Great Spa but poor Service and old fashioned rooms!”

The Spa was really spectacular in a Ship infront of the hotel....never seen before! The hotel is in combination with a big gym so there are a lot of people around that does not belong to the hotel. The staff was a little bid uninterested in offering us our booked hotel room because at 6pm it wasnt already cleaned up!? So they give as un superior room that was really old stuffed and not up to date! They charge me parking and we dont use it at all.

“Not bad but also not very special.”

Great staff, very friendly and helping. Rooms are ok, noisy and no airco but the shower is hot and the bed is comfy. Since it was a business trip I did not try any of the wellness / swimming facilities. It looks like a military facility and the elevator needs serious replacement.
