Right on Rembrandtplein!

Are you ready for Amsterdam? At Hampshire Hotel - Rembrandt Square on the famous Rembrandtplein, everything Amsterdam has to offer is on your doorstep. The ideal starting point for a day visiting museums (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Hermitage), wandering over Waterlooplein, cycling through the seventeenth century city centre, sailing through the canals, sitting at one of the pavement cafes on Rembrandtplein and visiting trendy local bars and clubs.

Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam is home to a little piece of Paris: Brasserie FLO Amsterdam. Step inside Brasserie FLO and you enter an authentic Parisian brasserie. Here you can enjoy an exquisite lunch or dinner in an authentic French atmosphere. Crisp white table linen, good wine and brasserie classics like steak tartare and côte de boeuf on the menu: everything is as it should be here. From your luxury hotel room, you can even order room service directly from Brasserie FLO.

Numerous possibilities for a great day out in Amsterdam.

Location, location, location. No problems in that respect at Hampshire Hotel - Rembrandt Square. Near the hotel, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a day out in Amsterdam: museums, exhibitions, historic sites, theatres and kids activities. A few suggestions:

Theatre and film
Anyone who loves art and cabaret will study the programme of De Kleine Komedie, the oldest theatre in Amsterdam (1786). Koninklijk Theater Carré is certainly worth a visit, if only to view the interior of this beautiful theatre. Pathé Tuschinski cinema is another lovely historic building. All the big blockbusters can be viewed here on the big screen.

The Hermitage Amsterdam presents various exhibitions from the collection from the Hermitage in St. Petersburg in Russia. Museum Het Rembrandthuis on Jodenbreestraat is located in the house where Rembrandt van Rijn lived and worked between 1639 and 1658. You will regularly find interesting exhibitions in De Nieuwe Kerk on the Dam. Fans of photography should certainly visit the FOAM Photography Museum on the Keizersgracht.

You can buy flowers, bulbs, plants and souvenirs on the floating flower market on Singel. There is a famous flea market on Waterlooplein near the Stopera.

Sailing through the canals is fun for young and old alike. Step onto a tour boat, rent a boat or take the whole family on a pedalo. Young scientists make exciting discoveries at the Science Centre NEMO. A visit to the fantastic Artis zoo is a joy for everyone. One of the highlights of the oldest zoo in the Netherlands are the tropical fish in the huge Aquarium.

“Hight comfort”

Clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly personnel. I stayed in that hotel for 4 nights and was totally satisfied with the service. I was feeling myself very safe and relaxing. By the way Hampshire Eden Wi-Fi is fast enough even for watching films online by evenings

“Suite rip off ”

I stayed here in June as my partners 21st birthday present. The hotel itself is situated in one of the best parts of Amsterdam I believe and I have visited many times. As this was no ordinary visited I decided to pay a little extra for the 40 sqm room which was a 'suite' however upon arrival I was slightly underwhelmed. It was at the end of a corridor, the sofa was not very clean and it was extremely dark, to open the curtains would mean looking out onto other people's windows which were residential. I thought a suite may have had views overlooking the square rather than on the ground floor. The problem that has annoyed me is that the room lower in value than this was only a little bit smaller. In our room opposite our bed was a sofa, and a desk then a large corner of empty space, this may have been useful if a dressing table was here or maybe some chairs to look out at the non existent view. So basically we paid a lot extra for a corner of the room that we never used as was not in an ideal location of the room. I believe if you're going to have a suite room at least let it feel as though the guests are getting extra otherwise we just feel ripped off and disappointed.

“Could have been a 4 star,but it's not!”

Location is amazing, clean bed. This could have been a 4 star however a couple of basics held me back. 1.Mold in the shower. Really! What star hotel has visible mold as such? 2. Shower leaks terribly.Took a shower and water leaked on the floor, basically flooding the whole bath room. 3. Internet is SLOWER than your grandmother's dial up. There is a charge for high speed internet. 4. Room has a mini bar fridge that is automated. If any items are removedremoved, your CC is automatically charged. You can request for the items to be removed for a fee of €15! Seriously? GTFOH! 5. Front desk personally seemed moody and not helpful. I asked for the local laundry mat and she said she didn't know where one was. Her partner provided info on one that was just blocks away.
