Unique and luxury country estate

When you go over the moat and through the castle entrance to the inner courtyard of Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic, you step back in time by a few centuries. You’ll maybe not see a knight on a horse, but the courtyard is, just as it used to be, the beating heart of the castle. This is where the terrace is laid out and where all buildings lead to: the Hoofdburcht, Voorburcht and the Kasteelhoeve.

Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic is located on the edge of Herkenbosch village on a unique fourteenth century country estate. It is just a few kilometres from Roermond, close to the beautiful Nationaal Park De Meinweg. You can just cycle or walk straight into the countryside from the country estate. The hotel has many beautiful, large rooms and is therefore very suitable for meetings, parties, weddings and other events.

Versatile surroundings in Central Limburg

From here in Central Limburg, close to the city of Roermond, you can go in every direction. There are many great cities and places of interest in the area, or you can cross the border into Germany and Belgium for events or a day’s shopping. A few tips:

Art and culture
The white town of Thorn is unique in the Netherlands. The partly noble history of this much-visited town goes back to the tenth century. You can discover why everything in Thorn is white in the Gemeentemuseum Het Land van Thorn. Walled city Stevensweert is on an island between two branches of the Maas. In the Streekmuseum Stevensweert/Ohé en Laak you can relive the history of this beautiful city, founded by the Spanish in 1633. Just over the Belgian border, there’s the tourist town of Maaseik, where there’s lots happening, as they say themselves. For example, you can visit Musea Maaseik on Lekkerstraat with the Regionaal Archeologisch Museum, the Apotheekmuseum, the Ontdekkingskamer and Kerkschatten van Sint-Catharina, all under one roof.

In Huifkarhoeve in Vlodrop there’s Gitstap playground with rides for older and younger children. They can play indoors and outdoors throughout the year at children’s play village Pee Wee in Posterholt. For very young children there is a petting farm. De IJzeren Man swimming pool in Weert also has a wave machine.

Düsseldorf, just over the German border, is the perfect shopping city. Christmas markets give the city a unique atmosphere during the festive season. There’s also great shopping at Designer Outlet Roermond, the largest outlet in the Benelux.

At Burggolf Herkenbosch you feel as though you’re abroad. The fantastic 18-hole golf course with its un-Dutch undulating landscape is in the middle of the forest next to the Nationaal Park De Meinweg.

The season on your plate

You can enjoy grandiose dining in Landgoed Kasteel Daelenbroeck – Hampshire Classic’s speciality restaurant. From amuse bouche to dessert: everything is simply 100% perfect. The Head Chef’s secret lies in his respect for nature and for the seasons. Everything that the season has to offer, you’ll find on your plate. You can enjoy dinner à la carte or be surprised by the special daily menu composed by the Head Chef.
Naturally there is an extensive wine menu and you can choose from various wine packages. And, of course, a castle isn’t a castle without a fireplace, so that’s kept crackling away for you.

As well as the speciality restaurant in the Pallandtzaal, there are other places in the hotel in which you can enjoy a culinary feast in a stylish setting, including the decked terrace at the rear of the castle, where lunch or dinner can be served outdoors.

“not worth its price”

I paid the full price mentioned on and ended up in a room in a "farm building" outside the castle. It was definitely not worth it's price: The room was a modern addition, with bad sound proofing (you could hear the neighbors cough and talk). The internet was bad (tested several times, and even at 6 AM, no more than 1,13 bps) - even playing a Youtube sound clip (no moving video) turned out to be challenging. For claiming to be luxurious, the bathroom didn't live up to standards

“always a nice stay except the dinner part last night”

As i have a customer nearby i always try to stay at this place. Today was my third stay. The stafff is very friendly and the accomedation is perfect. Normally also dinner is great, but unfortunatly last night it was not. I asked for the tenderloin (ossehaas). When it was served the meal looked great. However it a had a small very dry piece of meat on it. I tried 1 of the three pasta pieces and it tasted great. Then the meat. My mood changed tasting this. I was disappointed. It was dry and also tasted unfresh. I raised my hand and explained my point. I was offered another piece of meat. After 10-15 minutes i was served an excellent tenderloin steak. However. To keep warm or heat up the plate and its pasta and mashed potatoes they had somehow destroyed the rest of the meal. It tasted horrible. After dinner i had the feelling i had eaten a 3 euro supermarket meal. I was to tired to complain. My discomfort was also not noticed. The next day i spoke to a local about the dinner i had. He said it can be perfect and on other occasions it is hopeless as i described. We both agreed. So the tip is. Go there when it is busy season. They will have more freshly prepared meals and maybe a better cheff.

“wonderful place”

Stayed at the farmhouse, very large room on two floors (stair very sharp) nice living room downstairs. I can only imagine how it is like staying at the tower..... had dinner at the bar, very good food and good taste, a place to remember for the rest of your life.

“Family holiday”

Booked for one night on a road trip and when we arrived the location was stunning. Checked in and had one of the family rooms in what I presume was a stable block, but right across from the main building. The room was minimalist, good with 2 young girls who don't stop, and olde world style. It was very clean and perfect for our overnight stay, although we had booked in with 2 adults and 2 children the main bedroom upstairs (very steep stairs) was fine, but the pull out bed in the main room was not made up (our friends in the next room had theirs ready for them) We went to make it up and had no bedding, but a quick call to reception had this resolved. Breakfast was good and buffet style, great for the kids as they are fussy when we are away. Would recommend this pace and if we are in the area would certainly pay to stay again.

“Beautiful small place with rather good dining ”

Beautiful small size hotel offering a new tower build like a castle. Large comfortable suite. Good dining. Small breakfast but just enough to start the day. Free wif and parking. A very romantic spot in the hills of Limburg, NL. Very pleasant experience.
