Zeeuws-Vlaanderen stands for peace, sea and beach. It is an area with lots of history, which is reflected in fortified towns like Hulst and Sluis. The many culinary hotspots add to the atmosphere. in Sluis area alone there are numerous of exquisite restaurants. For example, Oud Sluis (3 Michelin star), La Trinité Sluis (1 Michelin star) and De Kromme Watergang (1 Michelin star). As you can see: this is the place for gourmets. But also the surroundings of Terneuzen has lots to offer for people who enjoy nature.
There are some lovely hiking routes trough the town of Terneuzen. The route hits the Arsenaal (military building dating from 1833), the Willibrordustoren, the (old) Town Hall on Noordstraat, the Moffenschans (sixteenth century farmhouse) and the Monument De Vliegende Hollander.
At the Portaal van Vlaanderen, you can view the sea lock complex of Terneuzen. In the months of July and August, there have daily tours. In Vlissingen you will find the lovely muZEEum, where you can experience the significance of the sea in the stormy history of Zeeland. Historisch Museum de Bevelanden is the treasury of the cultural heritage of North and South Beveland.
On a rainy day, the children (and adults) can enjoy the indoor play paradise de Toversluis. Another fun thing to do is: the subtropical swimming paradise named: Scheldorado. For a meeting with kids' heroes K3, Bumba and Mega Mindy, you can visit one of the Plopsaland theme parks in Belgium.
Terneuzen celebrates the Havendagen, Where the harbour and the water is the main focus, Markets, live performances and a fair are always part of this festivity. Which is held in June of every year. The big jazz festival Schelde jazz is also held in June.
In 30-minute drive from the hotel you'll find the 3 most famous sandy beaches of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen: Groede, Nieuwvliet and Cadzand.
